Word has it that this truly
popular and fun-packed festival has been discontinued but we’ll include it since
it may return. Piqua, Ohio used to be the “Underwear Capital of the World.”
However, the once 18 productive under garment factories have since left. In
honor of their heritage, the community hosted the Great Outdoor Underwear
Festival, which included wild events like the Long John Parade, Undy 500, Drop
Seat Trot, Bed Races and a Boxer Ball. My goodness, how can event like this not
continue?

October

Everyone knows about Ground
Hog Day but a fuzzy little critter in Vermilion will forecast how severe of a
winter Ohio can expect before it even starts – or so they say. The Wooly Bear is
a fuzzy caterpillar. It is said that if the black band on the critters brown
back is wide, get ready for lots of white stuff to fall from the sky. Well, this
festival pays tribute to the Wooly Bear with its annual weather forecast,
parade, wooly bear races and many contests, arts and crafts and additional
entertainment for the whole family.
